I just saw this a day or two ago. If you take out suicides, gun:drug deaths would be much lower. People always talk about the # of gun deaths but never differentiate between the two figures. Suicides account for 60+% of the total, which I find to be pretty crazy.
My boss, who was a great a guy and mentor to me killed himself on Wednesday in the parking lot of work.
Texted him the usually in the morning and to see if he was picking coffee up or I needed to, No answer and then he didnt show up. We called his wife and he said he went to work as usual and that is when I knew something was wrong.

Man thats horrible to hear. One of my wife's best friends killed himself less than a year ago. Not a day goes by she doesn't think about it. He was a really nice guy and as cliche as it sounds, no one expected it. Man does that shit affect so many people. Not trying to preach, but don't hesitate to talk with a professional. Amazing what it can do for the soul.

So it was my birthday today and I had an awesome fucking day. Work took me out to lunch for Italian, girlfriend took me out to dinner at the local smokehouse got Elk bangers and mash, smoked wings, jalapeño boats filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon with sweet and spicy sauce, and a stout. Went to my buddies place of employment aka a bar and got a ton of free wine. -2 degrees outside only negative to my day.
