I hail from OP Kansas outside of KC, MO. This is a '12 Yamaha FZ8 I purchased with 1.7 miles on the odometer. After 4 riding seasons it is showing a bit of charactor (age). I have logged just over 21K miles.
I have replaced the mirrors and added a Euro spec factory luggage rack with a Givi trunk. I have had the ECU reflashed to take care of the flat spot in the power curve. I run Dunlap Q3 tires. I have also installed a BMC air filter, Yoshi R77 stainless slip on and gutted the cat. I have also added Driven Pro grips and Shogun Frame sliders. An Ebay sourced LED headlight bulb. When it was time to replace the chain I stayed with the DID used by the factory and maintained the stock teeth counts. I installed an FZ1 rear shock. I made a fender eliminator for $5 and 4 hours of my time.
I mostly commute about 40 miles round trip each day with most of it on the interstates. I have taken trips to Arkansas and Texas, the Blue Ridge and Smokey mountains are next.
I do all my own maintenance and love every minute of it. It's not the fastest bike, nor the prettiest bike, but I love it all the same.

A late fall ride to the park to break in my first set of Q3s before parking it for the winter in the first season.
