how much of a pain is it to replace the clutch cable on the 8 .. any tricks or tips .

Is it broken or just time to replace? If it isn't broken, I'd try to use the old one to snake the new one into position. That's pretty much all I got. Hopefully Dennis chimes in, he's the go to madman for this stuff

it isnt to terrible. you can find replacement cables with bolt on end ferrels. I would pass on those and get a full replacement cable and housing. Reason being something caused abbraison inside the housing or not enough lubricant.
To remove/install the cable, pull the tank and airbox. loosen the cable adjuster down at the clutch housing and pull assembly. Install the new cable and housing and use some strong tape to attach the new to old. disconnect the assembly from the lever and pull the old and new assembly. You may need to coax it a bit, that is why the tank and airbox came off.
give yourself an hour and prelube the new cable 40w motor oil is fine.
happy maintenance

well i just realized that their is adjustment at the bottom ... well, fuck me,, prob dont have to replace the cable . at least i have a spare.
