I think the general thought will be.... HELL YEAH! Please start a build thread so we can all watch the hard work come to fruition!

Petsy74... read up on tge rgv250 forom that sean runs alot of people dont rave abour them... do all the work and lose some of the top end ballisticness the 250cc offers.
BUT you have spare motors so do it.
What carbs do u use, run a modded aorbox or pods. Is the inlet track the same?
Isn't sean releasing a kit soon? With barrels? He already has the heads... might be better option to just bolt on. Dont have to worry bout boring and re sleeving and porting etc

Yeah been reading some info on the RGV fourm asked Sean and he said it can be done u can either run std ign and standard pipes and re tune the carby and was also put on to a guy named Colin skillicorn who as a lot of exp with the 300 he said the same it can be done and have a base for a 70hp+ with zeeltronic, porting and race pipes an dyno 12-18hp but run std ign and exhaust (tyga,JL) rejet the carbys and dyno should be able to get around 8-12hp my brother wants to play around abit with the. Barrels and send them off to Syd to be replated so I'm due for a top end rebuild about 6,000ks so hope to have it done around then

Point taken my brother won't just slap it together and hope for the best he is very methodical in everything he approaches we used to race go-karts and he built the motors that were very quick so I can trust him on this build which yes it's a project for him and he will be researching all the info he can plus I'm on the RGV forum that TTW run I have been reading what other people have done and also contacted a guy named Colin skillicorn who is very exp on the 300 conversion we want to get all the info regardless on who it's from is a great help and would like to have it all worked out and hopefully see what the gain will be in HP and put up on here

Big Hp is much harder to control on a bike than a Kart.

Totally agree there just have to have a good look at it either go the 300 or sell the 3 motors I have and fund a hybrid Rs/Rz project

much better option mate...no point destroying a perfectly good 250 motor for little gains...go hybrd rz and get 85hp on a non stressed motor which will be super reliable

I'm still in 2 minds do a 300 or rebuild all 3 motors and sell them off for a banshee 350 motor for a hybrid but at this point my older brother is busy with getting his business up and running and I think feb he will get his new milling machine and then he will strip down each engine and let me know what his plan of attack will be. Then I'll be committed

Then I'll be committed be carefully not yo go too far... too fully restore a motor will cost you alot of m9ney you wont get back. People will buy running motors with re build history but will alwaus be suspicious if out of the bike. If you are just going to punt them just sell as is and get money back. People who have these things do not value the work gone into them because most will tinker and do the work themselves and to be honest would rather because they know its been done. I would suggest you just run through and fix minimum... pistons, rings, power valves etc and check all gears for wear including dogs and output shaft. Replace all seals. Check clutch plates and springs and replace if needed. Your going to need to aetup the engine with carbs and wiring inc ecu to check for pv operations and air solenoids and also the very important oil pump. Dont think just coz your bro will do it your in for profit you will quickly find that there is no profit at all to be made. You would be lucky to get more than $1,500 for a mint engine with everything re vamped. Even if you say 2k. Crank approx 800, top end 400 includes gaskets etc (no rebore), power valves are usually older style and pin will be worn add $300, output shaft are also worn $250, gearbox bits and pieces inc gear shift forks which will be worn $250. That is without even trying. All the other stuff gas gas water pump seal countershaft all the cops on either side of the gearbox bearings petals on the reed valves could be cracked or past their limit. Kickstart assembly there's all sorts of numerous Springs and all sorts of other stuff we could get you into trouble. Not trying to be negative or put you off thought I'd hate to see you burn all your cash and throw it all away I have a spare bottom and here and we have a spare engine that has been completely rebuilt with crank in it etc and that only cost us $1,200 from.perth

I hear what ya saying I would like to sell all 3 but if that doesn't happen not going to stress over it all that means I have basically 2 spare engines ready to go yeah i know I won't see the money return to what has been spent on like you mentioned just will see what my brother comes back once he stripes them down and checks out was is fucked and what he can make and modify 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 RS300 😁😁😁 either non powervalve motor 🤔
