Not bike related but got rear ended in my truck yesterday. Dumb bitch was on her phone trying to mess with her GPS because she was in a rush to an appointment. Wasn't a high speed wreck but her car bent my rear bumper down. Already filed a claim with her insurance and I'm meeting with an adjuster tomorrow to get an estimate on the damage. Luckily it looks like it's just the hardware that holds the bumper that is bent. The damage didn't even make it to the spare tire frame area. Even more luckily - I wasn't on my bike. Could have been way worse. Be safe out there guys! look at it like this. now you have extra play money. do what my buddy did. he took the money from insurance which quoted him some thousand dollars or so for the damage to his bumper. he went on craigslist and found one that wasnt in bad shape and changed it himself. in the end he made 600 out of it. I got rear ended a couple of months ago back in november. some kid not paying attention hit me in a red light. his insurance adjuster came out and quote the repairs to my car at 3700 dollars. this is the one and only time owning a mercedes has not royally fucked me because as far as im concerned. my bumper is bent down slightly and has some scratches. it was a very low speed impact and did virtually no damage to my car. it runs and drives just like it always did. plus it doesnt hurt to have a godfather in the autobody industry that happens to do sidework in his garage for a steal. so basically -1000 and im 2700 richer from this poor kids insurance. that one months mortgage for me and then some. i need to do the right thing and put some in savings but who knows. i might buy something pretty. i did just get a 94 325is that is missing a couple of body parts. maybe ill buy something like that. Point is, it sucks!, but try and have a positive outlook on things. does it suck to go through it? yes. Is you car still drivable? yes. will you make some unexpected cash that you can spend on something fun? most definitely! I would have done that if I wasn't worried about possible frame damage so I'm just letting a collision center take care of it and having them bill the lady's insurance company. That's insane that you got so much from it! The cost of labor definitely kicks up the quote prices which is awesome if it's in your favor. Sounds like you need a project car with that money - haha! It sucks but I'm just glad I wasn't on the bike and she didn't hit me any harder in the truck.

Good bye NJ! Final trip up to my new apartment in Massachusetts, with the important stuff in the bed. Looking forward to a shit ton of new roads and mountains I look forward to mad updates and pics.... u closer to a track? Hope it everything you looking forward too Two or three tracks within a few hours. Plus, one an hour and half past my parents in NJ, so that's a fairly easy trip as well. The amount of track days I do will depend heavily on whether or not I keep the 3. I may look for something more versatile up here, ala small gs or klr. I'm also battling the thought of the 990smt which I've wanted for years. Once in situated and work is all sorted out, I'll start weighing some options

After a long week (what felt like fucking forever), I got my truck back from the body shop. Much better! That is the same blue/emerald green the wife had. Great trucks! I even painted a kayak and pin striped it to match her truck for her. Ahhh the stupid shit we do for love. Glad you got your ride back. I see a couple tweeters, amp and a bass canon in your future....rock on young man. Woooot! DG

Got my new license and registered my bike in mass last night, so I took it to work this morning. Naturally, I was pulled over for 50 in a 40 and then discovered I had left my new license at home. Fun times.
When it was all said and done I was let go with a warning. Can't argue with that, given the circumstances.

Brought home a 2013 street triple r today for my wife. Probably going to have to lower it a half inch or so, but it is a sweet ride nonetheless. Factory arrow exhaust sounds glorious, and handling is fucking on point.
I'll be looking forward to stealing it on the occasion.

There is just something about that knobby tire that just looks right on the bike. I bet you could leave a nice trench in the neighbor's yard if they were to piss you off.

Oh, I can see that visiting a track day or three! I do not believe she will let me have free reign on that bike (especially after my last track day performance ) She'll probably do one day this summer, but she is going to be about as slow as they get on a track. I'm scouting two or three track days with my 3, at 250-300 bucks a day up here I can't afford much more than that. Scheduling also sucks, since I do 6 day weeks and only have Sundays to hit the track

Tony's track days is up here, 280-300 a day, 100 dollar discount if you are a member. It's 500 dollars for a basic membership though, so it's not even worth it with the number I'll do. I may just wind up driving the four hours to evolve at nyst, but that doesn't really save me much between the camping and gas. More of a fuck you to the other guys than anything else.
