Guys I lubed my cables. I don't remember since it was two years ago since I did it and installed the R6 throttle tube. Do the throttle brackets easily tighten too much on the tube and make it stick, or am in not installing this right? It seems so temperamental on the amount of tightening it gets as to not interfere with the throttle movement.

Put the assembly back together loosely and wiggle the housing as you seat the screws. Tighten until it is fully snugged. Make sure there is no cable binding.

Hesitant to use loctite on and area with internal plastic and external rubber and the throttle controller.

But you should be able to tighten the screws to the end with the r6 throttle tube and not have an issue. thats how mine is now

sup gents! been a hot minute since I've dropped in - been busy with work and sleeping a lot lol. finally took the 8 out for a spin yesterday. I went over to TST Industries again and they helped me fit a new license plate bracket and light that is tucked up under the tail. I got really tired of having it sticking out the back with the Yoshi bracket. now I just gotta figure out how to make the under side look nice where the OEM holes are. anyone know of an aftermarket tail piece that has the OEM holes blocked off? I was thinking about taking the OEM piece off, using it as a template, and cutting my own new tail piece from some sort of plastic or something...not sure though. ideas are welcome! I hope everyone is doing fantastic. I'll try to drop in more during this summer time period. I decided to say fuck a marketing degree so in the fall I'm going to be headed into the automotive program at my local state college to get my AAS in automotive and also get the Ford ASSET certification - along with that I'm going to get ASE and MECP (car audio) certified so I will be busy busy soon!

Not doing a motorcycle tech degree? Diesel? Electrician? I feel like there are other tech degrees that lead to higher pay than auto, but I did not follow the tech path so I can't say for sure.

I did the mecp in my younger days, was offered 8/hr when I got out of school. Went straight back to college. I wouldn't bother adding onto the auto degree unless you want it just for your own personal enrichment. Focus on one specialty and get experience any way you can. Offer to help out at a local shop or take an entry level spot at a dealership to get a foot in the door. Experience and a network will take you pretty far. Just my .02

Took my bike down off Craigslist and decided to keep it last night. This morning, ordered new saddlebag mounts, a top case and rack, and a replacement chain. Also picked up a gel seat and a new exhaust hanger from the r3 forum. Really interesting 24 hrs...
Almost traded for a klr the other day, but just can't justify a bike change if I'm going to grad school next year. Just going ride this thing into the ground and see what happens.

Chain and sprocket change could help some in lower end pep? I feel you on the tuition front. I'm looking to finally finish my MBA with a concentration and there is no help from my current employer.

Went with stock sizing, shouldn't affect much, just some more longevity. Stock chain was a cheapo. I'll be pursuing an MBA as well if I'm accepted, focusing on supply chain/ops. Hoping for a scholarship or full ride somewhere, my gmat practices have been over 700. I'm hoping some school out there will bite on that

All you MBA folks should consider getting Project Management certification to go along with it. I get job updates weekly and Project Management is a gold mine. If you can organize and keep people and tasks in-line and on budget, you can write your own ticket. I know "Six Sigma" has lost some of its luster in business speak, but it is a really good foundation for understanding how to identify and apply corrections to improve accuracy and customer satisfaction. In a nutshell it is measuring accuracy, production down to the sixth decimal. Example, of 1000 parts measured, less than .000001 had errors or defects. That is a producers wet dream and helping get there is critical in this economy. My couple pennies worth.
Best, Dennis

Best, Dennis Several of the schools I'm looking at offer courses for green belting, and they are definitely near the top of my list. Six sigma/lean are both big tickets I'd like to punch if I can. I have to see what my application round looks like, still a very long road ahead on that. Being full time also affords me the internship opportunity, which is probably the most important thing to me. My work experience is decent, but nothing of post mba caliber.

I'm looking I get into hospital administration myself. I'm in big business now in marketing, it's rewarding but I'm not passionate about it. Very happy I got the chance to experience it. There are many reasons to get those certifications, but mine shall be in Healthcare Management!

I'm looking I get into hospital administration myself. I'm in big business now in marketing, it's rewarding but I'm not passionate about it. Very happy I got the chance to experience it. There are many reasons to get those certifications, but mine shall be in Healthcare Management! Hospital Admin is a big arena with a lot of opportunity out there. I have been fortunate enough to grow up in the healthcare, insurance, transaction side. My father has been everything from Hosp Admin to CEO of several plans. At 77 he got bored, came out of retirement and is working to help a surgi-center recover some of its 13.5M from payers. As an admin, you deal with a lot of "billing" staff that dont know their nose from their ear. When you get into the field, eyeball your billing closely and you will be a hero. The rest sort of falls in line There is cash in sick folks for sure. And I don't see a downturn anytime soon. (Unless the Blues continue to get away with their recent BS of payment reductions) Just stay farrrrrrr away from any kind of Medicare/Medicaid/HIPAA legalities. A local health plan in CA and their related billing company just screwed the pooch and committed Medicare Fraud. The principal owner and CEO of the billing service just received 101 years in a fed pen for being a greedy douche.... Her partners, are getting 75 yrs and 55 yrs respectively and 85 Dr's are going to get their asses handed to them. Healthcare (all facets) are pretty interesting and pretty stable... Give it hell.
