Here are some pics to keep you in the know: When I won the bid. $127.50 (350.00 shipped)...I was totally shocked. The bid of $127.50 was supposed to be a sleep deprived joke...6 days later "YOU WON". What arrived at my home looked like a Dexter kill. A frame, wrapped in about 3 layers of palate wrap film and I swear the guy smoked 12 cartons of Winston non filtered cigarettes and blew the smoke into the partially sealed frame them closed it it. I cut into in and had to tape it shut immediately. I got 3 industrial sized air fresheners, slit the plastic and threw them in like a grenade and sealed it shut for a week before daring to attempt the exhumation (it worked). VIN CHECKS OUT - CLEAN. KEEPING TRACK: Many of you know me pretty well and yes, this is a real project binder, all 240 pages complete with every order statement and receipt (and bonus stickers). I had a massive spreadsheet going, but it wasn't a mfg parts list per-se, as this is a Frankenstein/horror story monster of a hybrid that I have dreamed of for a long long time. (Yam/Suz/Hand fabricated/Aftermarket/Black market/And super secret unmentioned suppliers, resulting in a mountain of bits. Have you ever sat down and thought about how many parts, nuts, washers, gaskets, sealant, switches, wire, bearings, paint, ...... there are in a complete motorcycle? I can tell you it is A LOT MORE that most will guess. And piecing it together is VERY EXPENSIVE compared to buying a complete bike. I am at $9,685.00 as of today and re-budgeted another $2000.000 for Lectron Carbs, Barrel re-bore (match) and the pistons (the first set were mismatched) and 3 color paint. So I will be in approximately just a tick under $12,000.00. And I AM TOTALLY OK WITH THAT!!!! It is mine, mine alone. I dreamed it, I am am building it and doing it my way!!! No one can or will say they have seen one exactly like it. Nor will they ever know what it is like to do it from bottom to top and then ride with the front wheel in the air and a middle finger raised proudly as the expansion chambers bark and howl, children and old folks running for cover...hahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaBITS AND PIECES (see why I dont sleep?) STAYED UP WAY TO LATE in prep to do a mock up of the frame rail addition and gusseting. After frame mods (Gun metal grey with rose gold and silver fleck) 35% larger radiator Zeeltronic Module (Replaces the factory CDI and powervalve controller - and allows a couple on the fly map changes) Programmer Staror pickup to talk to the module Battery replacement (2.5 oz total) STOP - new rotors New paint on front wheel as the rear is fucked at the moment (yes, that is the same paint as on the frame but 3 coats. Will have 2 clear coats to get a super smooth easy to clean finish) Rad and home crafted rad guard (still a couple tweaks coming) FZ600 swingarm - had shit factory adjustment - added these lovelies. I really love them for precise adjustments That aught to hold you for a little bit....there is a ton more..........

Some more images just to keep you in the know.... A full write up will be posted of all the individual nuts bolts, cutting, ordering, returning, reordering, waiting, cursing, throwing things, eating magic chocolate and hopefully very soon as complete rolling chassis for you to gaze upon in envy.... What it looked like from the factory (I love it)What my vision is (my modern interpretation) - I have dubbed it the RZLegacy - no Yamaha logos except the tuning fork cover on the clutch cover: [/url]
Just bunch of aquired goodies waiting in line to be affixed
(The only Yamaha factory bits are the frame (now altered) the cases, trans, barrels, tank and aftermarket representation of the tail (All altered).
THE FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL: (only about 18 pages now apply and 8 are electrical (my nemisis)

Modified my rear brake hanger as it was not designed for the wider wheel and the rotor bolts made contact. Some creative metal grinding and it is ready for mount up. Had to open up a 2 in × 1/2 in relief. Not perfect but functional. That small hole will be fill welded.

Got to stop this thing some how besides those ridiculously huge front rotors. So, despite "double secret probation", I placed the order for the full set up. CoreMoto - Custom built brake lines all around: (Translucent red!!!) Because it is a odd collection of bits, custom lines were required. I cannot hardly wait to grab a handfull of the stoppers and have my eyeballs fly out of my head.
Best as always, DG

What an awesome build!! Have you fitted that ebay electronic dash yet mate? I am looking at getting one purley because I cant find a cheap shift light that will do up to 15k RPM. These ebay ones appear to do so much for the low price....

These ebay ones appear to do so much for the low price.... I havent yet, but it was recommended by an RZ guy I spoke to because it is a simple setup and tolerates 2t vibration well and is supposed to speak directly with the Zeeltronic unit, the rediculous rapid spin up due to the ultralight but powerful stator I opted to toss I to the mix since I am totally abandoning the gear driven tach all the factory electronics.. Look at Koso. Supposed to be the goods. Programmable, has multi lap timer memory and other track features that may be handy. I think I recall that it is transponder/GPS compatable for real time and downloadable data review. Now I am all befuddled, I cant work on the 8 until insurance reviews and I cant really proceed on the RZ until my space is allocated. So frustrating to have so much I want to do but cant really do anything. Maybe do the frame and rear wheel clear coat tomorrow evening while waiting for ins guy...... and time permitting assemble my work station. Idle hands make Dennis loopy......loopier, fucking batshit nutty....

Did a "garbage" sale. Cleared out plenty of room to work on the 8 and the RZ side by side. Made a few buck selling off junk, so that goes into the lift fund. Front brake lines arrived today. The rear is still floating around in space somewhere..... More as it flows..... DG
